The Special Operations Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that their fighters destroyed the invaders' modern "Ironia" video surveillance complex, which is equipped with a thermal imager and rangefinder, with the help of kamikaze drones.

In another video, Fighters of the 25th Separate Sicheslav Airborne Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces locate and destroy a Russian invader reconnaissance and sabotage group trying to sneak into their positions at night.

The Ukrainian military says fighting is continuing in and around Bakhmut, with Ukrainian troops repelling 30 Russian attacks over the past few days on the town.

Artillery of the 128th separate mountain assault Transcarpathian brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the Russian invaders' BM-21 "Grad" rocket salvo fire system.

The head of Russia's leading private military company, the Wagner Group, said on Monday that its fighters would soon leave the town of Bakhmut which its fighters claim to have captured.

Commenting on his business Telegram channel, Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said “there is a line of defense on the western outskirts of [Bakhmut] now therefore, PMC Wagner will be leaving Artemovsk from May 25 to June 1,” he said, using the Soviet-era name for Bakhmut.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on May 23 that Russia had lost 204,360 soldiers in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion in February 2022, with an estimated 480 casualties as of May 22.

Since the second half of 2022, reports from the war front have tended to reflect Ukrainian advances in some areas and a severe standoff in others.

Russian troops appear to have forced residents of the Ukrainian town of Tokmak, located on a vital highway, as massive earthworks and trenches were built ahead of an expected attack on Russia by Ukraine.
