A mega-scene of Vinyasa Flow brought this city to life in ways beyond the yoga studio, outdoors to a beauty of wonder so that even those who couldn't afford studio yoga could show up to Race Street Pier or the Riverbanks, or the Art Museum where donation-based yoga became part of, some might say, the tourism industry. All decked out in colorful yoga leggings moving into Trikonasana (or triangle pose) as barges moved on down the Delaware River, almost right on time for a 'wave' by yogis. Even better barges would be powered down the river while the Philly-to-New Jersy Patco line 'clickety clacked' across the Ben Franklin Bridge. What a sight to see! But it is no longer presenting the way it was during its Hey Day. And there is no Sanskrit spoken like it used to be. (aside from Ashtanga Yoga School). It is safe to say that the Vinyasa Flow that brought so much more than a show, but a deeply serious and spiritual practice to those seeking more out of life. Seeking fulfillment. It is no longer available. Is the desecration of Vinyasa Flow--a 75- to 90-minute practice that was universally available in all major cities, but isn't now--a sign of a more serious matter? ...I think so. Especially if it changed your life or, rather, SAVED your life from a more serious matter--a world of psychopaths.
