The Origins of Virtual Reality | Nintendo's Virtual Boy 3D Gaming Console

Virtual Reality has come very far over the last few decades, from the Oculus Headset to the Meta Quest. But before that, there was another device that was introduced as a household product: Nintendo's Virtual Boy.

Nintendo released the Virtual Boy when VR was still a new concept. This 3D Gaming Console's application of Virtual Reality was not a wild commercial success, however it gave many people a taste of what would come in later decades. If you've ever used one of these things, you will remember the unsightly shades of red that color every game's appearance.
