I First Journey
A. Trip to Bethlehem happened so Joseph could pay taxes. Taxes were by family Luke 2:1-5
B. Shepherds came to manger on first night. Jesus the Lamb of God. Luke 2:8-20
C. Jesus was circumcised on eighth day Luke 2:21 Genesis 17:10-14
D. Mary goes to temple to bring sacrifice for her sin. Luke 2:22-24, Leviticus 12
E. Priest calls Jesus Christ Luke 2:25-30 Daniel 9:24-27
F. They go back to Nazareth Luke 2:39-41 I Samuel 1:3
II Second Journey Luke 2:4
A. When Jesus is Born the wise men start their journey Matthew 2:1
B. Nobody cared when the priest and the shepherds talked about a messiah, but when the foreign wisemen did the entire city was troubled, Matthew 2:3
C. Priest in temple tell wise men where to find Jesus, don’t follow Matthew 2:4-6 Micah 5:2
D. Herod diligently ask wise men how old Jesus is. Matthew 2:7
E. Wise men find Jesus in Bethlehem give gifts. Matthew 2:11
F. Warned in dream to leave Matthew 2:12-15 Hosea 10:15-11:1
G. According to time wise men gave Herod, Herod killed everyone under 2 Matthew 2:16
Rest of Journeys
A. Herod dies, Joseph leaves Egypt and goes back to Nazareth Matthew 2:19-23 Isiah 53:3 John 1:46
B. Continue going to Jerusalem every year Luke 2:41
C. One year they leave Jesus behind and can not find Jesus among their family Luke 2:44
D. Go back and Jesus is talking to the learned men and they are astonished at his wisdom cause he is only 12 Luke 2:46-47
E. Afterwards they take Jesus back to Nazareth Luke 2:51
