Franklin D. Roosevelt

n early versions of William Branham's stage persona, Branham frequently spoke about Franklin D. Roosevelt's impact on the nation and his difference in political opinion. Branham was not a fan of Roosevelt.

William Branham claimed to have been present when Roosevelt visited Southern Indiana, and Branham was displeased that his voice was not heard when trying to speak to Roosevelt.

Franklin D. Roosevelt was a target for white supremacists. Though Roosevelt was viewed negatively for nominating Hugo Black for the supreme court due to Hugo Black's public support of the Klan, Roosevelt was not a white supremacist. He angered the Klan for accepting the support of the Catholics, Jews, blacks, and union organizers, which was not aligned with the Klan agenda.

Gerald Winrod, who worked with many of the men in William Branham’s inner circle, was very outspoken against Roosevelt. As is the case with Winrod’s statements and predictions about Benito Mussolini, a great deal of Winrod’s propaganda made its way into Branham’s sermons.
