Fog Of War In Bakhmut | Has Wagner Really Captured The City Or Is It A Ruse To Flee Bloody Fighting?

There is no clarity about the real situation in Bakhmut despite the Wagner Group’s claims of having complete control over the city on May 20. While Russia officially claimed it has fully captured Bakhmut, Kyiv said it still holds "some buildings" and fortifications in the southwestern part of the city. Announcing the capture of Bakhmut, Prigozhin said that his mercenaries would withdraw from the city on May 25. However, Kyiv says Prigozhin’s victory claims are a scheme to let his mercenaries flee from Bakhmut and evade punishments. The Ukrainian military claims to have “knocked out” the Wagner Group which is now “broken.”
