Sharks bite two fishermen in Florida Keys in separate incidents

Officials have reported two separate incidents of fishermen being bitten by sharks in the Florida Keys, occurring within a span of less than 36 hours.

The first incident took place last Thursday, where a 20-year-old man from Miami-Dade County was bitten in the leg while spearfishing near Marathon, according to a news release from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The injured man was airlifted by a medical helicopter from the Seven Mile Bridge and transported to Jackson South Medical Center in Miami. No update on his condition was provided, ABC NEWS reported.
