Saint Mark's Basilica - Venice - Italy.

Originally, the building was to be an extension of the Doge's Palace.

Its construction began in 828 to house the body of Saint Mark, brought from Alexandria.
Even though the present building dates back to the 11th century, it is possible to distinguish some degradations and modifications that have occurred over time.

The present basilica has five domes and was built in the shape of a Greek cross; it became the city's ic 432H7 cathedral in 1807.

It has more than 4,000 square metres of mosaics (some of which date back to the 13th century) and 500 columns dating back to the 3rd century.
We can see several devices for capturing the ether.
