A Chicago man was sentenced to five years in prison on May 11 after attempting to flee a traffic stop in Carroll, Iowa, which resulted in a dramatic car chase in March, 2021. Newly released bodycam footage from the Carroll Police Department shows the moment Officer Patrick McCarthy stood in front of the car and pointed a pistol at the driver after repeatedly ordering him to step out of his vehicle. Refusing to do so, Guider attempted to flee the scene and drove his car forward into McCarthy, who was pushed onto the hood and clung to it as the driver continued forward.
