Nebraska has become the latest US state to restrict abortion rights, despite loud protests by opponents.

Lawmakers for the state passed a bill which bans abortion after twelve weeks of pregnancy. The bill also bans "gender- altering surgery".

The measure only just met the vote threshold with a vote of 33-15.
