The Flat Iron is back at Auction (5.23.23) with an unknown future!

The Iconic 122-Year-Old Steel-Cage Flat Iron has an uncertain fate as it could end up a residential or commercial building. It will have a second auction on May 23 after its past bidder failed to deposit a 10% deposit for the building's deed. The iconic structure is encased in scaffolding and has been empty and derelict since its last residents left in 2019. What thing is certain is that this building remains an endearing symbol of New York City's skyline and an engineering marvel of early 20th Century Architecture.
