Another sandstorm hit the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Monday, forcing airports to temporarily suspend flights and leaving 4,000 suffocation cases in the capital.

The sand could be noticed covering a large part of the city's skyline, meanwhile, dozens of patients were seen at Yarmouk Hospital during treatment for respiratory problems.

The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced that it has recorded 4 thousand cases of suffocation due to the storm.

The sandstorm is considered the eighth since mid-April in the country, which has been suffering from soil degradation, severe drought and reduced rainfall linked to climate change.
