This is the best tandem kayak for a family in my opinion. It is priced well below many and holds an outstanding 550lbs! The tri-hull design offers phenomenal stability. The high gunnels keep you pretty dry for an sit on top kayak. Even in some beach surf launches we have been able to paddle in street clothes and not fear getting soaked. The hull is very solid and will handle a lot of abuse. The handles and hardware are well made. I like the molded in handles. This kayak has a deck hatch for dry in hull storage. Rear deck bungees are nice for strapping down dry bags. We have had as many as 2 adults and 2 small kids on this kayak with no problems. The kayak is technically a 3 seater. The center seat works well for kayaking solo, simply move the seat to center and remove additional clip in seat. The Abaco 13.5 doesn't come with seats but the Perception Rambler 13.5 which is identical does include seats (see above purchase links). Overall a great family kayak in which my family has enjoyed a lot.
