This idea will help alert me to any thief tampering with my kayaks or intruding on my campsites at night. The sound from these is similar to a gunshot and will result in any thief checking his pants afterwards! These are a cheap and reliable means for anti-theft and don't rely on batteries (true off-grid solution). I keep my kayaks in my backyard on rack and use these trip alarms rugged to kayaks for added peace of mind. If it trips I know with certainty that someone is intending on stealing a kayak.
I didn't test the trip alarm on video only because it is so loud and I didn't want to disturb my neighbors. I tested the trip alarm when I first got it and it was as loud or louder than my 9mm handgun.
