**READ** In this video I go over the easy method for cutting and shortening a trolling motor shaft. This converts long shaft trolling motors to short shaft trolling motors which work better on smaller crafts like kayaks, canoes, and more! After cutting the shaft shorter you may need to redrill the hole for mounting the speed control head unit. Also doesn't hurt to take a file or deburring tool (http://amzn.to/2EYQQwv) to any sharp edges to prevent wire damage. Make sure to take photos of the wiring before taking your motor apart.
