The Dangerous Influence of New Age Spirituality, and How it is Ruining Ayahuasca pt 2

(Realising I left a lot of importance, specifically about the dangers of dogmatic beief, and specifics about Teal, I decided to do a part 2)

New Age spirituality has never really had the best reputation. Muddle headed mystics, fake channelers, perveted prophets, bogus gurus, bad incense, and cultural appropriation in its worst forms generally defines the "movement." But it gets worse as time goes on, and it is increasingly a breeding ground for dangerous narcisistic cult leaders like Teal Swan.

Theosophists, as New Agers were once called, have never had an original idea. It is a sort of compendium of ideas and practices stoledn from more sohpisticated legitimate systems such as theWestern Mysteries, Eastern mysticism, and most recently, and perhaps most unfortunately, South American shamanism.

The main factor that drives the destructive tendencies of the New Age movement is profit motive. On the one hand, the sophisticated, difficult, practices, disciplines, and philosophies of the systems that are appropriated are dumbed down and sugar coated so that they are user friendly and, most importantly, marketable. The need for vigorous training, steel wind disciplne, and intellectual capacity are deleted. This is where the destruction happens...and it is absolutely ruining ayahuasca as a medicine, along with the general disservice that New Age beliefs do to the poor souls that are naive and gullible enough to fall prey to them. IThe appeal of the New Age beliefs basically built around selling one of the most marketable commodities in the World: spirirtual bypassing.

Tonight we wll draw from my recent experience's researching Teal Swan, and some interactions in an ayahuasca group. The intent here is not to troll people's belief's are ridiculr anyone; this Lightstream is motivated by genuihne concern and an awareness of the dire need to do better when it comes to these subjecs. We will debunk a few very popular pop culture sprituality beliefs along the way. And hard.
