Posca art in cheap sketchbook 📚

SO STOKED!!! I was really brave + let me tell you why. I am a paper snob- no really like actually am. No, not all papers are created equally + I’m quite particular. I decided to try a 4$ sketchbook at the dollarstore for pencil + charcoal sketches not expecting it to hold up for anything beyond that. Well friends- I did a full on Posca piece + it held up 🙌 (wait until the end to see)

My second point to this post is pencil grades. Do you know how they work? I’ll try to make it easy for you. For the most part HB is the basic standard for everyone right? Well if you look at a pencil scale you’ll notice it’s largely divided into “B” + “H” categories with a few letters. I’m here to explain the different between “B” + “H”. “B” pencils are softer graphite and your lines are darker, so think “B” for bolder. One the other hand, the “H” has harder graphite therefore making your lines paler.

“B” for Bold - “H” for Hard.

There is no right or wrong answer it is simply a question of preference. I purposed chose 4H because it was the palest in my set. Some Posca colours are transparent and I wanted no pencil lines 😊
