“Loving The Alien” is a new documentary that focuses on the last 25-years of David Bowie’s life and career with a special emphasis on some of his most brilliant performances during that time period. Documentary filmmaker (and host of the A Cat Named Mo Show on 102.5 The Bone in Tampa, Florida) Maurice Jovan, explains what inspired him to put this doc together, how he found and curated the footage, and why he chose this specific Bowie-era. He discusses Bowie and Tin Machine, the “Hallo Spaceboy” performance with Foo Fighters at Bowie’s 50th Birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden, Bowie’s decision to stop touring in 2004, his final album “Blackstar,” and the genius of his ever-changing persona. He also shares stories about some of his favorite songs and moments in “Loving The Alien,” including “Outside,” “Absolute Beginners,” and the bits with Bowie and Ricky Gervais.
