The World Food Programme (WFP) delivered food aid to cyclone-affected Rakhine State in Myanmar on May 17. The WFP estimated that around 800,000 people in the region required food assistance, but travel restrictions imposed by Myanmar's military junta hindered aid groups' efforts to reach the affected population. Cyclone Mocha hit landfall in Myanmar on May 14th and is saiid to be the North Indian Ocean’s strongest storm on record.
