In South Korea, the tagada is called 'Disco Pang Pang (디스코팡팡).' The tagada filmed here is one of the few in Wolmido (월미도), Incheon (인천). Wolmido is an island and has a waterfront with restaurants and a theme park.

In September 1950, the waterfront of Wolmido was also one of the three amphibious landing zones of Incheon. This battle is called the 'Battle of Inchon' or the 'Inchon Landing.' (Prior to the mid 1990s, the alphabetical spelling of Incheon was 'Inchon.') The code name for the operation was Operation Chromite and was led by General Douglas MacArthur. U.S. and South Korean soldiers landed on Incheon. The U.S. 1st Marine Division and the U.S. 3rd Battalion landed on Wolmido. The Republic of Korea Marine Corps landed on the mainland near Wolmido. The landing and the subsequent fight to liberate Seoul was done to cut off the supply line of the invading North Koreans. The North Koreans had invaded and occupied Seoul and Incheon earlier. The Battle of Inchon occurred before the intervention of communist China in the Korean War.

There is a statue of MacArthur on a hill not far from Wolmido. Further south on another hill is The Memorial Hall for the Incheon Landing Operation. This memorial hall overlooks another landing zone of Incheon. The 1st Marine Regiment landed here.
