Friday Night Last Call - Chess/One Night in Bangkok ... and Beyond...

27

Originally released in 1984, Chess was the collaboration of ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (music) and Tim Rice (lyrics). This musical drama introduced the Top 10 hit "One Night in Bangkok," performed by Murray Head. A huge success in the U.K., Chess appeared on the U.K. album chart for 4 months - peaking in the Top 10 - and charted a 2nd single, "I Know Him So Well," which held the #1 position in Britain for 4 weeks. Contributing musicians included ABBA familiars Per Lindvall, Lasse Wellander and Rutger Gunnarsson. The Last Call Regulars will look back at this cultural curiosity, share their memories, and ... drink ... as usual.
