U.S. Navy scientists have trained sea lions to play video games that help improve cognitive enrichment and can keep marine mammals happy and healthy.
According to the Navy, hundreds of people help care for more than 120 sea lions and dolphins in the Marine Mammal Program.
Sea lions and dolphins “exhibit intense focus when facing increasingly difficult tasks which lie at the edge of their abilities … They show delight when they win; they want to play even when they aren’t getting positive reinforcement for winning," the Navy says.
