(This year's Feast Day 5/17 is transferred due to the Solemnity of the Ascension)
The Church has always honored those men and women who have solemnly professed and lived the Evangelical Counsels of Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience to such a degree of Heroic Virtue with the title of Venerable. When at least one, proven, miraculous manifestation is made known to the Church Our Lord founded through the intercession of men such as these they are called Blessed. When it can be done so for an irrefutable second time, the Church recognizes that person as Saint. This man, who founded a community and whom we consider our rightful Founder, is who and why we celebrate him today. Holy Scripture teaches us to honor this "just" man and Our Lord admonishes us to remember his example by keeping our own lamps of faith "alight and burning". Yet, what of the remnants of this community St. Stanislaus founded in 1673 and known as The Marians of the Immaculate Conception? Are they faithful to him and his Rule...would he even know them?
