“Hearing” God in Prayer/His Guidance in Life

{“Hearing” God in Prayer/His Guidance in Life} When we pray, how do we "hear" God's reply? How can someone differentiate between hearing the voice of God and hearing their own thoughts? When I pray, I feel like it's just me. How can I make decisions if I don't know what God wants of me?
