Are Young Investors Driving the Growth of ETFs in Europe?

According to research conducted by BlackRock, a "new generation of European investors" aged 18 to 34 is increasingly embracing exchange-traded funds (ETFs). The survey, encompassing over 16,500 retail investors in 14 European countries, indicates that these younger investors are likely to become the dominant group of retail ETF investors, surpassing those aged 35 and above.

The poll also suggests a 32% increase in the number of ETF investors in Europe over the next 12 months, with Spain, Portugal, Germany, and the UK leading the growth. The ease of investing and lower costs associated with ETFs, as well as digital investment platforms, are key factors driving this trend.
