Owen was the weeknight news co-anchor at WANE-TV when he appeared on the morning show, which featured calls from listeners. Pulled from a very old cassette tape (which disintegrated after it played). A native of Hinsdale, Illinois (where he was a high school broadcaster on WHSD-FM), Owen graduated from DePauw University (where he worked at WGRE-FM) and then worked in radio at Indy's WIRE-AM and WIBC-AM before moving to television and WPDS-TV (later WXIN),
