Protests start in Banlgadesh: Thousands demand government resignation in Dhaka amid energy crisis

Reportedly thousands of protesters responded to the call of the opposition BNP party and gathered in front of the National Press Club demanding the government's resignation. Police officers escorted the protest.
Due to the protest, traffic was halted on Dhaka's major roads. Bangladesh had been facing a power and energy crisis for more than a month, while foreign exchange reserves continued to dwindle.
