How Can Last Month's Budget Help You Today? - Budget Tip #6
You can use last month's budget to help you draft this month's budget. Look to see where you overspent and where you underspent. Analyze why, and then make adjustments for this month. If you do not reconcile your budgets, you are effectively driving a car without any rearview mirrors. Additionally, every month is different. Using last months budget should not be a copy/paste of each line. What it should do is prompt you to think if this month will require more, less, or the same amount of spending compared to last month's needs. Do you think using last month's budget can save you time in budgeting for the next? Do you like to use last month's budget as a starting point that just needs tweaking? Let us know in the comments below!
