It has been just a few months since the end of the Clone Wars and the beginning of the Republic's reformation into the Galactic Empire. It is a time of transition and conflict, as dozens of systems resist Imperial rule. The Emperor, formerly the Chancellor of the Republic, has summoned Lord Vader to Coruscant, having sensed a threat to his newly annointed apprentice.

Naboo is under siege as an uprising threatens to take its capital and push Imperial forces off the planet. Darth Vader, obsessed with revenge, having heard reports of a Jedi leading the uprising, prepares to go to Naboo and end the rebellion and kill the Jedi against his master's wishes.

Darth Vader is stepping into a trap, one that will change him forever—a path only the chosen one can take, discovering he still has much to learn about the Force and the true nature of the Dark Side.
