Ferrets, part of the same family as #weasels, #otters, and #minks, are captivating domesticated animals. With their long, slender bodies, short legs, and distinctive mask-like markings on their faces, they possess a unique charm. Highly social creatures, ferrets form deep bonds with their owners, making them popular as pets. As #carnivores, they thrive on a protein-rich diet derived mainly from animal sources. Although they have a musky odor, a result of their scent glands, regular grooming and cleaning help minimize it. Curiosity and playfulness define ferrets, and providing them with plenty of toys and mental stimulation is vital. Unfortunately, they are prone to health issues such as adrenal disease, #insulinoma, and dental problems. Due to their small size and agility, ferrets have a history of being used for hunting rabbits and rodents. However, over thousands of years, they have been domesticated primarily for companionship.
