Classic Sweet Southern Cornbread with Honey Recipe

1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a medium bowl, whisk together sugar, honey, egg, butter, milk, and water.
Using your stand mixer bowl, sift flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt.
Pour wet mixture into dry mixture and beat with stand mixer.
Greese a 8x8 baking pan.
Pour batter into 8x8 pan.
Bake for 25- 30 minutes.
Cool for 10 minutes.
Cut into squares.
