Imperfect Action Catalyzes Neuroplasticity

On this Mental Health Action Day, it is a good reminder that imperfect action outperforms perfection seven days a week and twice on Sundays.

As we step into each one of our daily habits, we are faced with a choice to continue into the known, or develop comfort in the dissonance of the unknown. The latter choice opens up a world of possibilities for us - which creates excitement in and of itself so profound that we realize there might actually be an outcome much better for us than the one we had planned. Whatever your habits are that you want to let go of- whether it’s alcohol, caffeine, porn, gluttony, complacency or anything else on the list… ask your heart one simple question, “How is this serving me?”

What comes next? For me, it’s a change of mind and a step into new, unknown imperfect action. And that I’m finding serves me better than what I thought I knew I was getting into…
