Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi said that Russian Shahed drones hit a “critical infrastructure” facility in the region overnight. Lviv governor Maksym Kozytskyi said that five drones were shot down over the Western Ukrainian region. Air raid alerts were activated in all Ukrainian oblasts and in the city of Kyiv on May 19. Explosions were also reported in Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, and Kryvyi Rih. The US is reportedly planning for the growing possibility that the Russia-Ukraine war may turn into a frozen conflict.
