18 May 23 NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he expected members to agree on a new investment pledge to spend 2% of their gross domestic product for military purposes at the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, in July.
Such spending increases will come at a time that the economic growth rates of European countries have shrunk or even are negative in the case of the UK.
