same game parlay strategy
what does same game parlay mean
how does same game parlay work

Well, if so, or one of the hundreds of variations, we have you covered! Kelly "Kelly in Vegas" Stewart and Eric Pauly from the GoldSheet sit down and discuss all of the above!

Here are some of Eric's notes for this video:

What is a SGP:
A SGP is a parlay with multiple bets from the same game, it can’t parlay everything, but it can be a combination of sides, totals, derivatives, player props, and game props.

The Math:

Parlays in general:
The odds of the parlay are determined by the odds of the straight bets inside the parlay.
Tons of parlay odds calculators out there

Same Game Parlays:
While regular parlays, the math of the payout is simple, SGPs are not the same
Sportsbooks understand the role of correlation. If you bet on the Mets to win at -110 and Max Scherzer over 7.5 strikeouts at -110, you are not going to get the +264 parlay odds you expect since Scherzer having a great game directly correlated to the Mets winning. The sportsbook is protecting itself by giving itself and additional edge when you bet correlated SGPs
Also, some books purposely decrease the odds of SGP’s when you go to their SGP section.

How to Combat this?

It is smart to hone in on a game you have an understanding on. With that being said, it is also very, very difficult to get a lot of things right on a certain game, especially when you are only looking to bet on overs (props, game, half)

Change approach - Non-Correlated.
You are better off, in terms of getting true odds, betting on opposite things. So, if you take Mets ML but scherzer under 7.5 Ks, assuming same odds, your payout would be higher bc the sportsbook is not taking out the correlated tax.

What is a Same Game Parlay?

A same-game parlay (SGP) sports bet allows you to combine multiple bets on the same game into a single wager. For example, you could bet on the total points scored, the winner of the game, and whether or not a certain player will score a touchdown. If all of your bets win, you will win your SGP. However, if any of your bets lose, your entire SGP will lose.

SGPs are a relatively new type of bet and have become increasingly popular in recent years. This is due to several factors, including the fact that they offer the potential for high payouts and allow bettors to get more involved in the action.

How do Same Game Parlays Work?

Same game parlays work in the same way as traditional parlays. You simply select multiple bets on the same game, and your winnings will be multiplied based on the odds of each bet. For example, if you place a $10 SGP on the following bets:

Team A to win the game at +100
Team A to score over 30 points at -110
Player B to score a touchdown at +120

If Team A wins the game, scores over 30 points, and Player B scores a touchdown, you will win your SGP and collect $220 in winnings. However, if any of those bets lose, you will lose your entire SGP.

Disadvantages of Same Game Parlays

There are also a few disadvantages to betting on same game parlays. First, they are more difficult to win than traditional parlays. This is because the odds of multiple bets winning are multiplied together. For example, if you place a $10 SGP on three bets with odds of +100, your chances of winning are only 1 in 1,000.

Second, same game parlays can be more expensive than traditional parlays. This is because you are betting on multiple outcomes, which means that you are paying more in juice. For example, if you place a $10 SGP on three bets with juice of 10%, you will actually be spending $11.

Third, same game parlays can be more risky than traditional parlays. This is because if any of your bets lose, you will lose your entire SGP. For example, if you place a $10 SGP on three bets with odds of +100, and one of your bets loses, you will lose your entire $10.
