Erdogan has stated that he will switch to left-leaning politics in 2023.

The president of Turkey made a suggestion on Saturday that he will run for politics one final time in 2019. He said it was time to pass the torch to "young people".

"Hopefully, in 2023, we will start the construction of the Turkish century with the strength we will receive from our nation's support for the last time on our behalf," President Recep Tayyip Erdoan said during a speech in the northern Turkish city of Samsun.
