Federal govt announces lower credit card fees for small businesses – May 18, 2023

Chrystia Freeland, deputy prime minister and minister of finance, announces the federal government has reached agreements with Visa and Mastercard to lower credit card transaction fees for small businesses. She is joined at the news conference in Brampton, Ont., by Mary Ng, minister of small business and economic development, Sonia Sidhu, MP for Brampton South, and Dan Kelly, president and CEO of the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.
