Canada: Tamil-Canadians mark Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day – May 18, 2023

In a news conference on Parliament Hill, two students from the University of Ottawa deliver a statement on behalf of the Ottawa Tamil Association and other organizations to mark Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day. Thousands of Tamils died during the civil war in Sri Lanka. The conflict between government forces and Tamil Tiger separatists ended on May 18, 2009, after nearly thirty years.
