Let’s go on a date

Just released a new song, I wrote this song on the way to Winchester, on a train. I noticed how beautiful the scenery was, even though it was lightly raining. I wanted to capture the feeling of something being beautiful regardless of its circumstance or background. Enjoyment through rough patches, optimism rather than pessimism.

The pre-chorus is word for word what I said to a partner when they were feeling insecure about a dynamic in our relationship. Midway through trying to reassure and convince them things were fine, I spontaneously said, "Let's go on a date." I didn't know if they were fully convinced or reassured that things were going to be okay, but I remember seeing that they appreciated my attempts at being optimistic about our future even through uncertainty.
