Feinstein STUNS Reporter, Claims She Has Not Been Absent From Senate

Slate writer Jim Newell wrote a piece yesterday about a conversation he had with Sen. Dianne Feinstein on Capitol Hill after her return to Congress. He asked her how she was feeling, and she said, "Oh, I'm feeling fine. I have a problem with my leg."

When another reporter asked her about the response she had received from her colleagues since she had returned to the Senate, she replied by saying, "No, I haven't been gone. I haven't been gone. I've been working. Please. You either know or you don't know."
