Chicken Malai Tikka Recipe
Chicken Malai Tikka is a delicious Indian dish known for its creamy and flavorful marinade. Here's a recipe to help you prepare Chicken Malai Tikka:
Ingredients:
500 grams boneless chicken, cut into cubes
1 cup thick yogurt
1/2 cup fresh cream
2 tablespoons grated cheese (optional)
2 tablespoons cashew nut paste
2 tablespoons almond paste
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
Salt to taste
Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine yogurt, fresh cream, grated cheese (if using), cashew nut paste, almond paste, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, melted butter, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, ground white pepper, and salt. Mix everything together until well combined.
Add the chicken cubes to the marinade and mix until the chicken is evenly coated. Cover the bowl and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results. This will allow the flavors to penetrate the chicken.
Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If using an oven, preheat it to 425°F (220°C).
Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 15 minutes before threading to prevent them from burning.
Place the skewers on the grill or arrange them on a baking tray lined with aluminum foil if using the oven.
Cook the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until it is cooked through and slightly charred on the edges. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken pieces, so keep an eye on them.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill or oven. Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves over the chicken tikka for added freshness and garnish.
Serve the Chicken Malai Tikka hot with lemon wedges on the side. It pairs well with mint chutney or yogurt sauce as a dipping sauce.
Enjoy your homemade Chicken Malai Tikka!
