Today we're talking about the crafting system, upgrades, technology, inventory, and resources as we've seen them thus far in No Man's Sky. For the most part, No Man's Sky seems to have a very simplistic crafting system, and that's not a bad thing. It allows players to get materials together and craft the upgrades they need so they can continue exploring and surviving within the massive world of No Man's Sky. At it's core, it's a system where each thing you'll be attempting has certain resource requirements, and there is also the possibility of needing a blueprint. Once those portions are in place, you can quickly craft the technology and install it into your item, providing you with a variety of different effects. The various upgrades appear to show you just how much of each resource you'll need, as well as tell you a blurb about what the upgrade will do. Once you have it, it appears you can dismantle the upgrade if you wish, which will return some resources and free up one of your inventory slots.

Speaking of inventory slots, of which your ship, multi-tool, and exo-suit will have, those slots are shared among resources that you carry and the technologies that you install, forcing you to make a choice between decking out your suit with technologies for instance, or having a large space so that you can carry plenty of resources to sell or utilize for further technologies.

From the gameplay, it would appear that a single inventory slot can carry 100 pieces of a resource, and the few beginning upgrades that we've seen so far for the exo-suit and the multi-tool cost between 50 to 100 of each needed resource.

I myself am torn between deep and complex crafting systems, and simple crafting systems that get you upgraded and into the main core gameplay quicker. Which type do YOU prefer? Feel free to leave your opinion in the comments section below. Much love ya'll!
