HOW MARATHON CAME TO BE
We are a theater company from Italy, this is our first time at the Orlando Fringe and the perfect opportunity to bring “Marathon” back on stage!

“Marathon” premiered in New York in January 2020, convincing audiences and critics alike.

“Marathon” is a special show for us, because that night marked one of the last moments for us in New York, even if we didn’t know it at the time. We were ready to bring it on stage again in March 2020 and onward but then… we all know what happened.

This play is about two friends, one American and one Italian, who have known each other for a long time, and yet discover things about each other that they did not know as they run together. The different ways they look at life clash as the viewer witnesses their fatigue as well as their emotions, creating a situation that is incredibly realistic and yet surreal.

“It’s been amazing to come back to work on this text after this time,” says Garaffa, the director, “The same text took on different meanings after the world went through this experience. The themes it deals with, such friendship and survival, take on even more value.”
