Cleveland disc jockey Alan Freed, who introduced the phrase “rock ’n’ roll” on mainstream radio in the early 1950s.

Rock 'n' roll's first star DJ didn't want to just talk about rock-he wanted to rock! So he recruited top session men and led his own band on a live Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party.
