NEW UPDATES: Ukraine Begins Retreat from Bakhmut | Patriot system destroyed in KIev | May 17 2023

Ukrainian troops have been forced out of Bakhmut and are now beginning to retreat towards Ivanivske and Chasiv Yar.

Last night Russia launched dozens of drones and missiles at the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. Ukraine claims that they shot down all the incoming projectiles, yet the evidence seems to counter this claim.

The US has now admitted that a Patriot battery was damaged, although the Russians claim that one Patriot system was damaged, one completely destroyed and another one untouched. Russia also claims to have hit all of their intended targets.

Elsewhere in Ukraine, Russia claims to have shot down 7 UK supplied Storm Shadow missiles. At the same time Russia again hit various targets in the city of Mykolaiv as battle for the city of Marinka continues to grind on.
