TONS OF HOOLIGAN in Seward, Alaska ! (3rd week of may) #13

HOOLIGAN aka (the candle fish) because of how oily they are.
So last year we took an early trip down to Seward Alaska to do some king Snagging. Don’t feel confused. Snagging is legal in all saltwater, as long as it's not specifically prohibited. Turned out we had gotten there just a few days before the kings came in so we ended up just filming tons of Hooligan.

Hooligan is a small species of fish found in the pacific northwest to Alaska. Many Alaskan fishermen that go Halibut & Rock fish fishing use them as frozen bait. Some people enjoy cooking & smoking them as well. Bit of a tedious project in my opinion but they taste pretty good if properly prepped and brine. Not to mention they are super easy to catch as there is no limit because of their numbers strength and you are allowed to use a net.
