Wurkkos HD15: The Best Value Headlamp and Flashlight Combo?
In this video, I review the Wurkkos HD15. This is one of the best value 2-in-1 headlamp and flashlight combos on the market. I'm always amazed at how much value Wurkkos provides in their flashlights. The HD15 is unique as it has both an SST20 and LH351D in separate lenses - this provides the ability to switch between or use both a flood and long-range spot beam. It also comes with an 18350 tube! If you're in the market for a great value headlamp with quality construction, make sure you check out this video. @wurkkosflashlight1052

Wurkkos HD15
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
• This is a great value headlamp that does it all! I like that you can choose between the spot (SST20)/flood (LH351D) beam, or both. The other headlamps I own have the usual one LED and reflector combo. It's smaller than my Nextorch Max Star even though they both take the same 18650 cell. I also like that it has a true moonlight mode.
• Comparison with my other headlamps
Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel, and reflector
• Standard glossy black anodizing, does the job but is a little slippery. The LEDs are both housed in separate TIR reflectors - very small ones. Surprisingly, the top one does a great job of projecting the beam. There's a metal plate surrounding both of the recessed lenses - which provides protection. The screws on the plate can be removed which is important if you want to mod your light later on. The switch is on the head which I prefer - as less chance of accidental activation. Good quality machining, thick square-cut threads. The head is slightly larger than the battery tube, square-shaped, and juts out slightly.
• The top lens features an SST-20, and the bottom lens features the LH351D LED. There is also a diffuser on the bottom lens. No glass protection.
• Wurkkos have included an 18350 tube for those concerned with weight/size. Double-sided clip - it'd be great in your front pocket or the front part of your jeans. Normally takes an 18650 cell (included).
• Headband is a study and also runs across the top of your head for extra stability.
UI - modes
• Switch between beam profiles, and modes.
• Moonlight mode
• Power indicator - green, red, flashing red (3 fast clicks)
• Lockout 4 clicks.
• Moonlight, strobe, SOS, beacon (2 clicks from turbo)
Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
• CCT, CRI, Ceiling bounce test
• Rated at 2000 lumens
Considerations
• Take a bit of time to detach the light from the headband. Not an issue if you're using it for one or the other purpose mostly.
• Large with 18650 but you can use the 18350 tube.
• On the flood+spot (high) it gets quite hot.
Verdict
• I'm always impressed with how much value Wurkkos offer with their lights and this one is no different. You get everything you need in the package, including a battery, charging cable, headband, clip, and bonus 18350 tube. If you're looking for a great value all-rounder headlamp and flashlight that won't break the bank, you might want to consider the HD15!
