Two of the biggest successful radio stations, Radio Nova, then Sunshine Radio,were raided by the Dublin government in May 1983. This is the story and background, to what was the most successful and inspiring years in broadcasting, since the radio ship Radio Caroline started transmitting on the Irish Sea, and North Sea, on Easter 1964.
Key to this whole era, was a "something" which inspired the creativity and Protected these radio stations, and ultimatley led to the creation of Sky Television. Itself seeded by members of Radio Caroline.
Thus the Raids in May 1983, are a pivotal moment in broadcsting history.

From the edited VHS, shot in 1983, by Miles Johnston. This covers the fascinating era from 1978 to 2005, the big close down in Dec 1988 is in Part 7. The era was covered by the Bases Project in 2005, as this is all about ETs, and something intrinsik to what is now happening 2023.
