Originally written by the Reverend Al Green, David Byrne of the Talking Heads in 1978 created a Powerful, Modern Adaptation to this Brilliant song...and in the song, Byrne loaded it with the Passion and Intensity needed to fully INNERSTAND what is actually being Taught to us by the Baptism of Water...

Dunking our Heads into Water is not going to Heal us of any Earthly problems, however, the ACT of Surrendering ourselves to both Mother Earth (The Water) and Father Heaven (The Aether) IS capable of Healing us, over time...

The Baptism of Water is symbolic of stopping trying to run our Lives ourselves, and ALLOW God to do what He does Best, and that is, from WITHIN, Direct and Guide our Lives to the Plan that He has for EACH and EVERYONE of us...it is symbolic of Taking No Thought for our Lives, and learning to Live ONLY thru God's MANNA from Heaven, which are HIS Thoughts and HIS Desires, and not our own...

And in this rendition of the Song, David Byrne does a Brilliant job of Conveying all of this thru the Intensity in the Music and his Performance, which is also Symbolic of Taking the LEAP OF FAITH, where we truly don't' know what will happen to ourselves when we commit fully to God, but we still TRUST, thru FAITH, that HE will Guide us to the Strait and Narrow Way, and lead us Back Home to the Trinity...Father Heaven, Mother Earth, and us, the Golden Child...
