Ukrainian Air Force shoots down Russian hypersonic missiles over Kyiv

Ukrainian air defenses shot down 18 missiles fired by Russia overnight on May 16, the Kyiv city administration and air force said, calling the attack “exceptional in its density.” The Ukrainian Air Force wrote on Tuesday morning that air defenses shot down Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, Kalibr cruise missiles, and S-400 Iskander missiles fired from warplanes, ships in the Black Sea, and land. The attack began around 3:30 am local time, it said.
